This past Thursday I had the opportunity to have dinner at Asiana, which is one of my favorite Asian restaurants in Kentucky, with the Mortgage Magician himself, Mr. Tim Eickhoff 🎩🪄.
Asian cuisine is known to for its diverse and bold flavors, often including a blend of sweet, sour, salty, spicy and umami. For this adventure, my watch of choice is the Christoper Ward C1 Bel Canto Viola. What’s the story on this watch? I’ll start by saying that I waited an entire year for it, and it was worth it. But more on that later.
First, we started with an order of crab rangoons, which are crispy and crunchy wonton pockets of flavor, fried to a beautiful golden brown, filled with refreshing cream cheese, soft veggies and crab meat. Whenever I visit this restaurant, I ALWAYS get at least an order of these, because they’re so good!
Next, we got an order of the chicken pot stickers that I completely forgot to take photos of 🤣 but they were delicious.
Now onto the entrées. Tim got the combination fried rice, which again, I forgot to get photos of 🤣, and I had the crab fried rice.
Rice is something special to me, because I grew up eating it, and this one at Asiana is one of my favorites. Comprised of lush, buttery crab meat that melts into golden wok-tossed rice, each grain kissed by the flame touched with smoky flavor achieved by the perfect wok hei, and tossed with caramelized onions, vibrant scallions, tender peas, sweet carrots, and elevated by the richness of the egg, creating a perfect balance of textures and flavors. It’s definitely something you need to experience.
This occasion called for a special timepiece, so I chose the Christopher Ward C1 Bel Canto Viola. Like the many layers textures of flavor in the crab fried rice, this watch expresses so much more than just time. It is a horological masterpiece that combines innovative engineering with audacious design. Exposed for all to see are the intricate components of the movement, the hammer, spring and bridges of the chiming mechanism, expertly polished to perfection and arranged in the shape of a songbird, it gives this watch a distinct look unlike any other. A definite head turner.
